Remember, regular listening is the key to success!

This is a gentle, relaxing recording for adults (or possibly older teenagers with parental consent) who are facing, or already undergoing, chemotherapy for breast cancer. It is designed to support women at the emotional level and also help them cope with any physical side effects of chemotherapy through the use of simple-to-learn breathing techniques, visualisations and mental pain relief techniques. This relaxing, calming, comforting and uplifting recording uses the gentle imagery of a healing sanctuary and self-directed healing light. You learn strategies that other women have found helpful and also hear affirmations which have been suggested by women who have come through the treatment themselves. These affirmations play gently in the background from time to time while Lynda speaks to you.

When to play the recording

You can listen to this in different ways and at different times; you can use it in the lead up to your treatment to accustom yourself to drifting into this pleasant relaxed state so it becomes an automatic response just when you need it most. This will also help you internalise powerful suggestions that you welcome the treatment since you know it will shrink down and / or eliminate cancer cells and help speed your recovery process. You will almost certainly want to use it after each treatment to help you cope in the best possible way with any unwanted side effects and listen again during the breaks between treatments as a mental, physical and emotional boost to your immune system and over all well-being.

You can relax as you listen and drift comfortably off to sleep at the end if you want to or you can re-orient yourself to your surroundings and feel more able to cope positively with whatever is going on in the daytime. Lynda's gentle, well-modulated, English voice calms, re-assures and encourages as you listen and the more you listen, the more effective it will be

Successful approach

This kind of approach is completely natural and safe and based on sound hypnotherapy principles. It also   uses techniques well known in pain-relief clinics. In the gentle, relaxed, lightly-hypnotic or meditative state it is often possible to use the power of your mind to lessen discomfort experienced and feel more able to manage the various side effects associated with different drugs in chemotherapy. Lynda suggests that your mind will drift off to a pleasant place if sensations are being mentioned which have no relevance in your particular case and attend once again as soon as it recognises aspects which are relevant to you. This recording contains powerful suggestions for finding inner resources, and building calm, confidence and resilience.

Lynda's gentle, well-modulated, English voice calms, re-assures and encourages

Clinical hypnotherapist and former teacher, Lynda has worked with many, many people over recent years and has helped them overcome numerous different problems. Her work has been widely featured in the press and she has appeared on both TV and radio. Lynda is the author of the acclaimed books, ‘Scripts and Strategies in Hypnotherapy with Children’ and ‘More Scripts and Strategies in Hypnotherapy’ (for adults).

The recording uses state of the art technology with background affirmations panning from left to right from time to time. Optimum effects are gained with headphones but it is still perfectly fine to listen on CD equipment or your computer. Most of these affirmations have been offered by women who have come through the experience themselves and felt they would be uplifting to other listeners going through the experience of chemo. As Lynda speaks to you, from time to time her voice is also heard very gently, almost subliminally at times, repeating these affirmations to boost your morale and lift your spirits.
