What our clients say
'We were at the end of our tether with our eleven year old who had suddenly gone from being happy to one who was frightened and paranoid. We were out of our depth, as was Jakes school, but Lynda gave us a lifeline. In her calm way she exuded confidence and we knew that there was an end in sight. We were facing some very dark days before we found Lynda but happily she patiently resolved the problems with her combination of high expertise and kind common sense.' 'I spoke in front of the whole class; it was great!' 'It's amazing. I've just completely stopped making those noises now.' What sort of problems are dealt with in hypnosis?

Do all hypnotherapists work with children? You will probably find relatively few hypnotherapists who are experienced in, and enjoy working with children. I am a former teacher, have more than 15 years' experience in clinical hypnosis and give masterclasses in 'The Use of Hypnosis with Children' for the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and The ISIS Centre, Brighton, among others. I am also the author of 'Scripts & Strategies in Hypnotherapy with Children' How do children respond?
Children are great to work with because they are imaginative and havent usually seen misleading stage shows which give such a mistaken impression of what hypnosis really is
 What happens in the session?
The first part consists of a chat to find out what your child doesnt like about the problem situation as it is and check out how they would prefer to be thinking, feeling and behaving instead. The main focus is on the solution rather than on the problem The second part is the lightly hypnotic relaxation with gentle yet powerful positive suggestions
Older children read more Younger children read more Reinforcement between sessions I usually make recordings for them to listen to at home which reinforce what we do in the session. Children are normally really keen to take part in the actual technical side of producing the CD which increases their involvement and enjoyment of the session!
Can I attend the session with my child?
Yes, certainly you are very welcome to be in the treatment room if your child is more comfortable with you there. Nonetheless, my focus is on talking directly to your child rather than talking about them as can happen sometimes in other situations
