This is a self-help hypnotherapy recording for children of about 6-9 years. They are led through an imaginary garden where they find special balloons to blow their worries and concerns into and watch them fly away. They are then introduced to the idea that there is a special part of them which is looking after them and will help them to become more confident. At this point they are given suggestions for feeling happy and confident and, back in the framework of the garden, they are asked to see their reflection in the pond acting calm and confident in their everyday life. Lynda uses the power of the child's imagination through the use of relaxation, metaphorical stories and fantasies where the child is encouraged to mentally act out positive solutions to a problem. The best time to listen is usually as the child relaxes before going to sleep. Listening to the recording should be additional to, and not in place of, any normal bedtime reading or listening.
